Britain on Friday welcomed Pakistan's latest success in arresting an al Qaeda leader and said it would continue to work closely with Islamabad in fighting the global campaign against terrorism.
"We welcome Pakistan's recent success in targeting al Qaeda leader as well as its ongoing efforts in the global campaign against international terrorism," British foreign office and Commonwealth spokesman told APP while commenting on the arrest of Ahmed Khalfan Ghailini who was allegedly involved in carrying out the bombing of the two American Embassies in East Africa in 1998.
The spokesman called for concerted efforts by the international community to defeat terrorism.
"Only by working together can the international community defeat those who are determined to wreak havoc and mayhem on all our people," said FO spokesman.
He said the British government "will continue to work closely with Pakistan, a key ally, to fight this evil menace."
Britain has condemned the murder of two Pakistani hostages by terrorists in Iraq and extended its condolence to their missiles.
According to the spokesman of the British High Commission as has been said in Pakistan such killings are inhuman and contrary to the teachings of Islam.
