Interior Minister Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat said here on Sunday that Pakistan has sought help of its partners in the world community against terrorism after the suicidal attack on prime minister-designate Shaukat Aziz to smash terrorists' network.
The government has also announced a reward of Rs 10 million for the arrest of terrorists involved in suicidal attack on Shaukat Aziz, he told newsmen at a dinner hosted by provincial Zakat, Ushr and Religious Affairs Minister Mir Manzoor Panhwar at a local hotel.
"We have made some arrests after this incidents and evidences show that it has also links with certain recent incidents of terrorism," he said, adding that efforts were also on to identify the suicide bomber to ascertain the links.
To a query, the federal minister said according to an Internet website, al-Qaeda has accepted responsibility for the suicide attack, but still, the government has to ascertain several things.
He described the arrest of a terrorist, Khalfan, a great success and declared that the government was determined to continue its war on terrorism till its ultimate end.
According to him, these acts of terrorism were of great importance and should be seen in international perspective.
The interior minister viewed that Pakistan was being targeted because it wanted to pursue liberal and democratic policies.
To a question about reports of operation in Balochistan, Faisal Saleh Hayat said the government has not involved army in Balochistan yet, as it wanted to resolve the issue through dialogue with the concerned parties.
"The government would hold talks with them through the governor and chief minister of Balochistan and only after that the other way could be opted."
Minister for Water and Power Aftab Ahmed Sherpao and Defence Minister Rao Sikander Iqbal were also present on the occasion.
