Sugar, wheat moved both ways on the commodity wholesale markets during the week ended on July 31. Among commodities underwent changes were cotton cakes, plastic mouldings, sugar, wheat, castor and cuminseeds etc. Traders were not happy with the goings and called it worrisome.
However, plastic mouldings registered good gain as Saudia 952 underhead HDPE gained Re 1 to Rs 36, Mobil up same amount to Rs 36, and TR144 up Re 1 to Rs 36, HDPE injection Sabic 200056 up Re 1 to Rs 37, Mobil up RE 1 to Rs 36, and Thai up Re 1 to Rs 36, HDPE blow Kuwait up sharply to be quoted at Rs 35.37, Marlex up Re 1 to Rs 35, and Iran quoted at Rs 35.37.
LLDPE W118 up Re 1 to Rs 36, 7087 up Re 1 to Rs 36, polypropylene tape grade India up Re 1 to Rs 36, Kuwait up same amount to Rs 36, Saudia up Re 1 to Rs 36, PP injection grade Saudia up Rs 1.50 to Rs 36, India up same amount to Rs 36, polystyrene Pakistani quoted higher at Rs 2411.
Copoly block up Re 1 to Rs 38, Random up Rs 2 to Rs 40, High Impact Pak quoted higher at Rs 1600, and BASF up quoted at Rs 3000, ABS polylac 707 quoted up at Rs 2675, and Khumo up quoted at Rs 2650.
Black pepper from Singapore shed Rs 50 to Rs 3950, castor seed down Rs 800 to Rs 9100, and cuminseed down Rs 200 to Rs 4600.
JUTE GOODS: 20x3 Brown Bawany down Re 1 to Rs 27, 16x3 CRT/Indus down Rs 1.50 to Rs 28, 40x2 Bawany Brown down Rs 1.50 to Rs 26.
Milk powder Veg Corolac down Rs 1.50 to Rs 41.50.
Cotton cakes better gained Rs 5 to Rs 550. Yellow peas inferior up Rs 25 to Rs 1625, better up Rs 30 to Rs 1670, dal yellow peas up Rs 25 to Rs 1750, and better up Rs 20 to Rs 1785, beetle chana I up Rs 25 to Rs 2150, better up Rs 25 to Rs 2200, beetle 50x50 up Rs 30 to Rs 2000, and better up Rs 40 to Rs 2040, beetle dal up Rs 25 to Rs 2450 and better up Rs 15 to Rs 2490, gram new up Rs 50 to Rs 1900 and better up Rs 40 to Rs 1940, gram dal up Rs 25 to Rs 2150 and better up same amount to Rs 2200 and bajra quoted at Rs 1280, sugar inferior up Rs 85 to Rs 1935, but later lost Rs 10 to Rs 1925 and better was up Rs 80 to Rs 1950 but later down Rs 5 to Rs 1945, gur inferior up Rs 100 to Rs 1450 and better put at Rs 2100.
Guwar all stations inferior up Rs 50 to Rs 1550, and better up Rs 25 to Rs 1575, wheat quoted down at Rs 1150, Til Sindh better type was down Rs 50 to Rs 1850 and inferior put at Rs 1700, urad Burma quoted at Rs 750 and Rs 800, Mexi wheat Pak quoted better at Rs 1155, gram dal quoted at Rs 1900 and better quoted at Rs 1940.
FRIDAYS: Rapeseed cakes inferior up Re 1 to Rs 256 and better type was quoted at Rs 260, guwar all stations inferior was up Rs 25 to Rs 1575 and better up same amount to Rs 1600, beetle chana I down Rs 25 to Rs 2125, and better shed same amount to Rs 2175, gram dal quoted at Rs 2150 and Rs 2200.
PLASTIC MOULDINGS: HDPE blow marlex up Re 1 to Rs 36, polystyrene BASF quoted at Rs 2800 and Pakistan quoted at Rs 2498.
Juwar inferior shed Rs 20 to Rs 850 and better rose by Rs 5 to Rs 855, moong Punjab was quoted at Rs 1750, urad Burma inferior up Rs 30 to Rs 780 and better put at Rs 800, barley Mardan quoted at Rs 975, guwar all stations up Rs 25 to Rs 1600 and better up same amount to Rs 1625.
Rapeseed cakes up Rs 2 to Rs 258, and better quoted at Rs 260, Til Sindh down Rs 50 to Rs 1650 and better quoted at Rs 1800, cotton cakes better down Rs 5 to Rs 550 and better put at Rs 545.
Black pepper from Singapore down Rs 175 to Rs 3825, big cardamom down Rs 100 to Rs 8900 and cloves shed Rs 100 to Rs 9000.
SATURDAY'S: Til Sindh inferior down Rs 50 to Rs 1600 and better up Rs 50 to Rs 1850, makai down Rs 70 to Rs 800 and better put at Rs 850.
CHEMICALS: NJ Taiwan down Rs 2 to Rs 126, oxalic acid China up Rs 2 to Rs 41, caustic Taiwan up Rs 2 to Rs 23, Rangolite C China down Rs 2 to Rs 55, Germany's up Rs 4 to Rs 126, India up Rs 2 to Rs 63, hydrosulphite China up Rs 4 to Rs 55, India down Rs 3 to Rs 62.
