Prime Minister Shujaat Hussain announced on Sunday that Rs 0.5 million each would be given to the families of the persons who lost their lives in the recent Fatehjang incident.
He said that every injured person, who was admitted in hospital after the blast, would be paid a compensation of Rs 50,000.
The Prime Minister, who attended a condolence meeting at Prime Minister House on Sunday to offer 'Fateha' for the departed soul of driver Abdul Rehman Khan, announced that Rs 1 million would be paid to the family of the late driver.
The compensation includes Rs 300,000 from Shaukat Aziz's personal account and Rs 100,000 from the federal government.
In addition, two children of the deceased driver will be provided assistance and scholarships for their higher education by Chaudhry Zaheer Elahi Shaheed Trust.
The eldest son of the driver has been provided job at the PM House so that the family can retain the official accommodation allotted to the late driver. Another son of the driver has been provided job at the Punjab House, Islamabad.
The Prime Minister said that one next of kin of every deceased person would be provided job, either in the federal or provincial government.
Earlier, the Prime Minister condoled with the children of the deceased driver and expressed his heartfelt sympathies. Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz, PML secretary General Mushahid Hussain, some parliamentarians and officials were also present on the occasion.
