I wish to offer my sincere felicitations to the people and Government of Pakistan on the occasion of Noble Energy International Coal Conference with special reference to development and utilisation of Thar Coal reserves.
As the specter of globalisation is getting obvious day by day and new challenges of WTO and other global initiatives are set to overhaul the global economic scenario, it is only the indigenous natural resources, if developed with precise far reaching objectives, can make the real difference.
Recently Pakistan has made revolutionary changes in its investment policies. Now this country is full of exciting new business opportunities. Entering into the area of rich indigenous coal resources is one of the most attractive and favourable sector of investment.
This country is a dynamic power market with a large fraction of population still without access to electricity.
I wish to congratulate Government of Pakistan and all related federal and provincial organisations for their keen sense of achievement and interest in developing this coal reserve for power generation purposes.
We will make all possible efforts to provide technology & expertise in key result areas and look forward to establish long term mutually beneficial strategic relationship with Government and people of Pakistan.
