US blue chip stocks rose slightly on Wednesday, erasing earlier losses as oil prices eased and prompted investors to buy beaten-down shares.
The blue chip Dow average climbed into positive territory, but the technology-packed Nasdaq was kept in the negative zone by a disappointing outlook from online travel booker and media conglomerate InterActiveCorp.
The Dow Jones industrial average was up 27 points, or 0.27 percent, at 10,148. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 0.92 of a point, or 0.08 percent, at 1,101. The technology-laced Nasdaq Composite Index was down just 0.12 of a point, or 0.01 percent, at 1,859.
