A 55-day baby, Anas Javed returned home after successful heart surgery in Bangalore. His veins were wrongly connected with the heart and his survival for one and half month was a miracle.
Anas Javed was born on June 19, 2004 in MamunKanjan, some 100 kms north-east of Multan. His artery was connected on the other side and his entire system of blood circulation was running incorrectly.
Pakistani doctors had advised his parents to take the baby to India for replacement of artery.
The parents went to Bangalore in July where Dr Rajesh Verma and lady doctor Devi-Sethi operated upon this child for nine hours and successfully brought the artery system back to normal.
"Anas Javed is the first baby in the world whose artery was connected wrongly with heart which was affecting the blood pumping system of the baby. However, it is miracle that he survived for 55 days with the wrongly connected arteries," said Nabeela Javed, mother of Anas.
She said that they have required Rs one million for operation in American, UK, or any other country but now we have spent only Rs 142,000 including travel, boarding, lodging and medicines expenses, as in India, drugs are cheaper than Pakistan.
She further said that four children of Karachi, Hyderabad, Sialkot and Lahore were also operated during last week.
Nabeela Javed said, "there would have different situation had two neighbouring countries would not have moved for peace and friendship."
She appreciated the behaviour of Indian cardiologists and hospitality and also the Indian High Commission for issuing them timely visa to visit India.
