Karachi Police have advised the people to have a complete scrutiny of antecedents of domestic servants before giving them job.
The servants, including cook, driver, guard, chowkidar and maids, must be get registered at the concerned police station after they were employed, it further advised.
The police pointed out that during investigations in cases of house theft and dacoities, it came to light that such crimes were committed after spying and communication of full information about the targeted place, adding in most cases the domestic servants were found involved in providing such information.
The Police asked the people to submit two recent passport size photos of their domestic servants along with attested copy of their national identity card at the concerned police station to get them registered. The people have also been advised to avoid employing illegal immigrants.
The police appealed to the business people and owners of offices to maintain liaison with each other so that in case of any crime, the neighbours could immediately inform the police.
The people have been told that in case of any abnormal activity or seeing a suspected vehicle or person, immediately contact Madadgar "15".
The police also appealed to the owners of houses to have a complete file of their tenant while renting out their house etc. The file should contain passport size photos of tenants, attested copies of their NICs and information about the tenant's guarantor.
On the directive of Inspector General (IG) Sindh, the Karachi Police launched a special campaign to create an awareness among the people as public co-operation and promotion of a friendly- environment guarantees decline in crimes and a crime can be checked before it occurs by adopting protective measures.
In connection with its awareness campaign, the police produced various handbills and appealed the people to co-operate with the police for the elimination of criminals and establishment of a peaceful and safe society.
