Japan International Co-operation Agency (Jica) has completed first phase of industrial up-gradation programme initiated last month in collaboration with Smeda.
Smeda, CEO, Shahab Khawaja has appreciated the performance of Jica experts and decided to set up industry support cell in Smeda premises so as to control and run Jica's industrial up-gradation programme amicably. The cell will be furnished with the required facilities as per agreement with Jica.
Official sources said that Jica has agreed to send six senior volunteers for an industrial up-gradation programme in Pakistan. Five experts have joined and the sixth will recently join.
These experts shall stay in Pakistan or one year, which can be extended for another year as per agreement with Jica.
