Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (Reap) chairman Anwar Mian Noor has urged the government to establish rice city in the country to boost rice trade and its export.
Addressing a press conference, he said that establishment of rice city would provide one window facility to rice dealers and reduce their problems considerably.
He noted that rice exports has touched around 650 million dollars and hoped by the year 2007, it will cross the one-billion-dollar mark.
He said that rice exports did not getting freight subsidies since the last one year and urged the government to resolve this issue.
He said that China has shown interest in importing rice from Pakistan.
