The FPCCI Export Trophy Awards have become a symbol of pride and a target to be achieved by the exporters. The FPCCI Export Trophy Awards have not only earned recognition at both national and international levels but also have become a label of quality and standard.
The FPCCI Export Trophy Award Winners enjoy good reputation in the international business circles and feel proud to be the winners of this prestigious Award.
FPCCI has been awarding Export Trophies to the leading exporters of Pakistan who attain highest export performance in traditional and non-traditional items.
The exporters are well-aware that to increase exports they will have to compete with the products of other countries in quality and price. I must repeat that the secret of promotion of exports lies in production of high-quality products with competitive prices.
I am pleased to see Pakistan crossing the export target of US $11 billion during the year 2002-2003 and hope it will cross US $12 billion in the current fiscal year for the first time in the history of the country and assure that FPCCI will always be giving great importance to achieving and increasing this figure in future.
It is my desire that Pakistan may become one of the top exporting countries in the region.
I congratulate our stalwarts for their efforts, which are highly commendable, and I salute the Export Trophy Award Winners with whose help the country has been successful in achieving the export figure of US $11.03 billion during the year 2002-2003, despite the adverse conditions faced by our Trade & Industry.
This year FPCCI is awarding President of Pakistan Trophy, four Businessmen of the Year Gold Medals in the category of Industry, Export, Trade and Foreign Exchange Earnings and an award to Best Lady Exporter. Besides the above, FPCCI is also awarding 28 Best Export Performance Trophies, 40 Special Merit Trophies and 36 Merit Trophies to the leading exporters of the country. I am happy to announce that the President of Pakistan Trophy for the year was won by M/s Nishat Mills Limited.
I am grateful to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain who spared his precious time to award the trophies to the leading exporters, which is a reflection of the Government's earnest desire to promote exports.
I am thankful to my colleagues in the Managing Committee and the members of the Export Trophy Awards Committee of FPCCI for their efforts and guidance in organising this biggest annual event of our Organisation. I also appreciate the strenuous efforts of the Secretariat of FPCCI in taking care of all aspects of the event.
