Indian Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) Monday approved the brief on the two-day home secretary level talks between India and Pakistan on terrorism and narcotics control to be held in Islamabad from Tuesday.
"We have approved the brief on which the talks will take place," Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee told the newsmen after a meeting of the CCS presided by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Mukherjee said the talks were part of the ongoing composite dialogue process between India and Pakistan.
Responding to questions, he said the home secretary level dialogue, which had last taken place in November 1998, has been revived and would focus on terrorism and narcotics control.
Later Home Secretary Dhirendra Singh left for Islamabad on Monday evening at the head of an Indian delegation to hold talks with his Pakistani counterpart on terrorism and narcotics control.
