Chief Election Commissioner, Chief Justice Irshad Hassan Khan (Retd) has called the comments from the Sindh Chief Minister on the general complaints of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), against the Sindh government.
"It any contesting candidate has any grievance, in the first instance, he should make a complaint to the concerned returning officer, who shall take appropriate action in accordance with law," said a statement issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
If the complainant is not satisfied with the action taken by the returning officer then he may bring it to the notice of the Election Commissioner by stating the grievance specifically and not in a vague and general terms.
"As regard general complaints against the government of Sindh made by the election cell of PPPP, the Chief Election Commissioner has been pleased to call for the comments of the Chief Minister, Sindh before passing any appropriate orders in accordance with law," the statement said.
It has been observed that so far no complaints have been received from any of the contesting candidates or their (authorised) election agents from NA-59 Attock-III and NA-229 Tharparkar-I with regard to arrangement being made for conduct of bye-elections.
However, in their own interest, the candidate may directly bring the grievance, if any, to the notice of the concerned returning officer for expeditious disposal at the spot in accordance with the law.
