The Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) on Monday accused the government of 'misusing' secret agencies to harass political opponents and safeguarding the vested interests of foreign countries instead of allowing them to concentrate on maintaining law and order.
Reacting to the recent wave of terror attacks in Karachi, PML-N chief Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that the resumption of these activities was failure of the government.
"It is not difficult for secret agencies to detect and prevent such incidents, but the government has deputed them to monitor political foes and safeguard foreign countries' interests," he blamed.
Nawaz added: "The situation could have been better had the government utilised of even 10 percent on improving law and order that it is using to net hypothetical anti-US extremists."
Two-time former premier argued that the maturity of the collective conscience of the people could spoil the conspiracies of a handful of elements with destructive intentions.
Sharif also expressed his heartfelt sorrow and grief over the loss of lives in Karachi blasts during last two days.
