Ukraine exported 140,800 tonnes of grain through its sea ports in July, the first month of the new 2004/05 (July-June) season, analysts said on Wednesday, quoting data from ports.
ProAgro agriculture consultancy said Ukraine exported 104,500 tonnes of barley, 18,300 tonnes of maize, 15,200 tonnes of wheat bran and 2,800 tonnes of peas.
Earlier this week Agroperspectiva agriculture agency said the country sold abroad a total of 215,000 tonnes of grain in July compared with 258,000 tonnes in June.
It said Ukraine exported 126,000 tonnes of barley, 75,000 tonnes of maize, 12,000 tonnes of wheat and 2,000 tonnes of other grains.
Ukraine has said its grain crop would grow to up to 35 million tonnes in 2004 from 20.2 million in 2003, the country's worst crop in the past 50 years.
The government also said Ukraine's grain exports might reach nine million tonnes, including up to 4.5 million tonnes of wheat, in the 2004/05 season, compared with 2.7 million tonnes of mostly feed barley and maize in 2003/04.
Analysts said the crop would reach about 34 million tonnes and exports might total about seven million tonnes.
