Wapda chairman Tariq Hamid inspected the maintenance work pertaining to the shifting of electric poles placed in the consumers premises, here in the Township area on Monday.
According to a press release, the Wapda chairman while addressing a gathering at Township division said that the Wapda would continue augmenting the power system despite financial constraints and quite a handsome amount had been allocated for the purpose.
Local MPA Dr Anjum Amjad and Lesco chief executive officer Muhammad Bashir Zahid were also present on the occasion.
The Wapda chairman hailed the assistance of locals and financial support of Dr Anjum Amjad in shifting the poles and said it could be followed as a role model.
He asked the staff to carry out the maintenance work more efficiently. He stressed upon the field staff serving at the Customer Services Centre to adhere to the guidelines framed for them to facilitate the masses in line with the commitment of the management to serve the power consumers in a better way.
The Wapda chairman was briefed about the ongoing development works in the area. He was also apprised of the functioning of one-window operation in the sub-division. Later, the chairman on behalf of Wapda, presented a shield to Dr Anjum Amjad for her active support.
