Professor Asko Parpola of South Asian Studies, University of Helsinki, Finland, called on Punjab University (PU) Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Azhar Ikram Ahmad here on Monday.
President Pervez Musharraf has invited Professor Parpola to participate in the inaugural ceremony of the Heritage Museum at Islamabad.
Professor Parpola discussed with Professor Azhar Ikram Ahmad about the archaeological heritage of Pakistan, including Moenjodaro and Harrapa. On the occasion, PU Registrar Colonel Masud-ul-Haq briefed him about the valley of Hunza, Gilgit, Chitral and Shakar Paryian.
He appreciated the construction of Karakoram Highway.
Professor Azhar also presented a shield to Professor Paropla as a memento of his visit to the University.
