London robusta coffee prices settled mainly higher amid trade buying interest on Tuesday, but pressure from origin sellers helped keep the market in check, dealers said.
Liffe's November closed $5 up at $711 a tonne following a wide session range of $724-692 on volume of 8,201 lots from a total of 15,409.
"Nearby September ended flat at $692.
"After yesterday...there doesn't seem to be much sign of funds in the market, and there's enough selling to stop the market running higher," one floor source said.
Dealers said trade sellers stepped in to take advantage of higher prices early on following Monday's 6.7 percent jump, while others said pressure from the origins was also evident. There was little evidence of roaster buying, said a trader.
