The six-party religious alliance, Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has strongly condemned the continued siege/search operations at religious seminaries and given a countrywide protest call on Friday.
Mian Mohammed Aslam MMA MNA from federal capital disclosed this while talking to Business Recorder after attending a meeting here at Lal Masjid.
The MMA local chapter has convened the emergency meeting to chalk out comprehensive strategy for Friday's protest and negotiations with government and local administration to defuse the tension.
MMA central leaders Senator Maulana Samiul Haq, Maulana Abdul Malik MNA and Qazi Rasheed Ghazi attended the meeting besides ulema from various schools of thought.
Mian Aslam said that peaceful demonstrations would be organised under the umbrella of MMA after Jumma prayer on Friday in Islamabad, all provincial capitals and big cities to register its protest against the government.
ICT police and administration have jointly conducted another raid on deeni Madressah namely 'Jamia Faridya' in Sector E-7 to arrest wanted men including Lal Masjid Khateeb Maulana Abdul Aziz and Naib Khateeb Maulana Abdul Rasheed Ghazi here on Wednesday afternoon. However no arrest was reported in this connection.
