Nara Canal Area Water Board Director on Wednesday directed the Executive Engineers to issue revised water supply rotation programme under intimation to all the concerned with immediate effect.
The engineers were further advised to implement the rotation programme to ensure supply of water up to tail-end Abadgars.
The measure follows reports of shortage of water arising in the command area of Nara Canal after decrease in water level in river Indus which was also adversely affecting standing crops including cotton, chili, besides sowing of onion, sugarcane and vegetables.
Reports earlier said that water level in the River Indus fell due to lack of sufficient rainfall, which automatically resulted in a shortfall in the Nara canal.
