Thar full of granite deposits

Believe it or not but the area of Thar also holds the largest deposits of granite stone in the country, worth billions of dollars, if properly excavated, polished and exported, UPP special correspondent reports.
The granite in Thar area is pink in colour and greatly in demand the world over for its fine quality. It may be mentioned here that once polished, the granite stone preserves its gloss finish longer than any other stone known.
The granite has been used for the building of monuments, forts and protective walls in the old days, while nowadays it is being used extensively in prestigious buildings all over the world, including Pakistan.
