Liffe robusta coffee prices broke support to settle lower on Wednesday as smaller funds unloaded positions, traders said.
November ended $38 lower at $673 a tonne. Trading ranged between $703 and $672 amid volume of 5,863 lots from a total of 10,932.
"There was some fund selling at the end of the session in line with New York," one trader said.
Another said: "It's long liquidation from smaller speculators causing pressure." Front-month September lost $39 to end at $653 amid turnover of 3,942 lots.
Meteorological conditions in Brazil's coffee belt looked benign with dry weather and temperatures set to be near to above normal for the next seven days, according to forecaster Meteorologix.
