Provincial Minister for Law, Justice and Local government Muhammad Basharat Raja has directed the authorities to gear up the construction work on the Rs 350 million, Committee Chowk Underpass project to complete the project before the time.
"Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has shown keen interest in the development projects in Rawalpindi so that he has directed that the underpass project should be completed within the stipulated time of three months", Minister said while talking to RDA officials after his visit to project site.
He said this is an important project with regard to the communication facilities in the Rawalpindi city.
"It will make sure the smooth sailing of the traffic flow on important Murree road and will end the problems of the people in general and motorists in particular", he added.
He said that the time for the completion of the project is three months while the contractor was asked to complete it within 80 days. "I hope all the concerned circles would take stock of the importance of this project and will help in completion before the stipulated time", he said.
Talking about the compensations and alternate place for the traders, Raja said that government will not make any injustice with the affected shopkeepers.
"They would be given alternate shops in the shopping complex to be constructed in Raja Bazar on the place of old Municipal Block", he added.
He assured the traders that government will also make sure the payment of their constructions.
