National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure that all Hajis are issued Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) by August 25, 2004 the due date announced by Ministry of Haj and Religious Affairs for the submission of CNICs.
A total number of 14,313 applications were received from intending Hajis for the issuance CNICs, out of which 14,174 CNICs have been issued, while the remaining 139 applications are under process and CNICs to the applicants will be issued shortly.
Nadra has adopted special measures to facilitate all intending Hajis for issuance of their CNICs by operating special Haj counters at National Swift Registration Centres (NSRCs).
However it is observed that most of the intending Hajis had already obtained their Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) for Haj pilgrimage and there is small number of intending Hajis who are still without CNICs.
