NWFP Governor Lieutenant General Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah (Retd) has said, "terrorism will be tackled and confronted with full courage and force", urging the tribal elders to co-operate with the Govt in this regard and foil such terrorist activities in their respective areas by forging unity in their ranks and files and keeping the area peaceful.
Addressing at the annual parents day ceremony at Cadet College Razmak North Waziristan on Saturday morning, the Governor strongly condemned the recent missiles attacks on the college and said that despite the advice by certain circles for shift the college to some safer pace, we would not
leave the ground rather would face the terrorism more courageously.
The Governor asked as to why those people were targeting the innocent children studying in the college and why they were putting those beautiful valleys on fire. He said that co-operation of the local peoples was must to arrest such terrorist activities.
"If the people of the area sincerely pledge not to allow their soil to be used for anti- Govt activities, then no one can have the courage to indulge in such nefarious acts", he remarked.
However, the Governor said that local tribal elders could not absolve themselves of their responsibilities in that regard.
The ceremony was largely attend by the parents, tribal elders and students besides Inspector General Frontier Corps Major General Hamid Khan, Secretary to Governor Sahibzad Saeed Ahmed, Political Agent North Waziristan Agency Dr Fakher Alam and Political Agent South Waziristan Agency Asmatullah Gandpur.
He urged the parents to be in regular contacts with the teachers about the academic performance of their kids so as proper procedure could be adopted for improvement.
The governor also advised to the student to concentrate on their studies and achieve excellence in their respective educational field. Now is the age of education particularly the scientific and technological advancement, on which rests the development and prosperity of a nation, he remarked.
He hoped that the elders and people of North Waziristan Agency would strive hard to further promote the college.
The Governor also appreciated the parade, PT display and Gymnastic demonstrations by the students of the college. He also gave away prizes, shields and trophies for best individuals as well as house performances. The student displayed a beautiful PT Show and gymnastic demonstration, which was enthusiastically applauded by the participants.
