Secretariat Police on Saturday arrested head of a gang involved in car lifting and recovered two taxicabs from his custody.
Police have also recovered arms from culprit Khan Muhammad, resident of Mardan and registered case against him.
According to details, Fazal-ur-Rehman had lodged a complaint on August 19 that he was driving taxi with registration IDA-3665, when Khan Muhammad hired him for Bara Kahu. While we were on Murree Road when Khan snatched his car at gunpoint.
Acting SSP of Islamabad, Sultan Azam Taimoori assigned the task to SHO Secretariat, Inspector Arshad Ali Khokhar to nab the gang. Khan Muhammad also tried to snatch another taxi from Niaz who was driving vehicle DNA-555. Niaz shouted for help, and the SHO, who was on patrol along with his team arrested the culprit red handed.
