A meeting, chaired by DCO Karachi Mir Hussain Ali, on Monday decided to pay the electricity bills of street lights through meters and directed the Works & Services Department City District Government Karachi (CDGK) to install meters on street lights on roads of CDGK.
The DCO directed EDO Works & Services Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui to take immediate measures so that payment could be made only on the electricity consumed.
The meeting also agreed that agriculture tariff should be applied to the city government, town administration and other government departments with respect to utility services.
Sindh and city governments will approach Nepra in order to take any decision in this regard.
It was also decided that separate meters should be installed on different government and residential buildings so that everyone could pay the amount of electricity bill, consumed by him.
