Balochistan Assembly here on Tuesday disposed of two privilege and five adjournments motions during the last day of its ongoing session with the speaker Jamal Shah Kakar in the chair.
The privilege motions were tabled by MPA Shah Zaman Rind and Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal. Rind in his motion complained that the Finance Department has not released him the amount of Rs 10 million under the Prime Minister's Drought Package despite the fact that PC-1 and schemes proposed by him in this regard were approved by the Planning and Development Department.
The speaker disposed of the motion after assurance given by the Finance Minister Syed Ehsan Shah that the amount would be released shortly.
Ziaratwal in his privilege motion complained about handing over of Bolan Textile Mill building to Balochistan Varsity of Information Technology and termed it an insult of the House as the Provincial Assembly had passed a unanimous resolution regarding reactivation of all closed mills of the province last year.
The speaker disposed of the motion with the ruling that the building was handed over to BUIT for establishment of new campus, marine varsity and an educational complex within its premises in the best interest of the people.
Adjournment motions were mostly presented by Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party MPA Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal which were related to inclusion of daily allowance in the Act of increase of the salaries of MPAs, establishment of girls colleges in remote areas and appointment of teaching staff and increase in their salaries, changing the criterion for electricity extension programme in Balochistan and payment of compensation to legal heirs of the people who were killed by recent rains and flash-floods in Zhob.
The speaker disposed of all these motions after positive assurances given by the concerned ministers.
