Punjab government has approved Rs 1.26 billion for the provision of better medical care to mother and children under Women Health Project (WHP) in various provincial districts.
Increasing mortality rate during the maternity is point of concern and dire need was stressed to bring this problem under control. Government while taking appropriate measures in this regard draws a comprehension plan with the allocation of the Rs 1.26 billion was approved, sources in Provincial Health Ministry told this scribe.
They said that government was also taking measures to make the country tuberculoses free country as medicines worth Rs 16 million were being purchased in order to treat the patients of this killer disease.
Besides purchasing those drugs further Rs 93 million were made available for the purchasing anti-TB medicines, which would be given to patients through trained medical staff in government hospitals and Basic Health Units, they added.
