District Nazim Lahore, Mian Amer Mahmood, has stressed the need for chalking out a strategic plan to redress the public grievances pertaining to Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
While addressing a two-day workshop organised by LDA, to create awareness among the legal advisors about the LDA functioning here on Wednesday, he said developmental works could not be completed for the last 20-25 years in some of the LDA housing schemes.
He said that the city district government attached top priority to developmental and in order to redress the complaints regarding non-availability of record, computerisation process had been started in LDA. However, apart from those efforts, awareness campaign was a must for LDA staff and legal advisors to deal with the litigation and other problems.
Director General LDA Ikhlaq Ahmad Tarar said that the LDA was not only facing litigation due to ineffective legal defence system but also had to suffer a loss of million of rupees in case of court's decision against the LDA.
During the workshop, the Land Acquisition Collector would apprise the workshop participants of the land acquisition procedure.
