Professor Tanweer Junejo, Chairperson of the Department of Sociology, University of Sindh presented her research work at a final PhD seminar on "A study of changing cultural patterns of Pakistan, due to political situation, as reflected in Sindhi literature" here on Thursday.
She said that the literature has always a dominant position in the development of healthy educated society. She said that the collapsed of Jageerdari System in the province was the result of Sindhi literature contribution in moderating the Sindhi society.She said during her research study it has been observed that during the last 57 years country and the province of Sindh have gone under cultural and tradition changes in our society.
The scholar also highlighted the writings of the various Sindhi poets and writers, which reflected and criticised on the artificial changes in the society.
She said that the traditions and the cultural changes were made solely and gradually in the different political set-ups which had taken place in our country.
She through her research efforts pointed out the different political, literary and cultural changes from 1947 to 2004 in the all over country. She advised that the people especially the literary circles should have to play their role for the better change in the society for the betterment of the masses.
The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh, Mazharul Haq Siddiqi has said that the literature always played a key role in the betterment of the society and added that with the neglect of humanity and literature in our lives the violence is increased in the societies all over the globe.
He was presiding over a final PhD seminar presentation here on Thursday. The research scholars, senior professors, students from the faculty of arts, social sciences and other faculties, largely attended the final PhD seminar.
Vice Chancellor Sindh Varsity said that the research scholars has produced the research work and combined the literature, sociology and language to reflect the changes in the society for the betterment of the masses.
He said that the scholar's research work is based on her deep study of the different parts of the society in the changing attitudes during the last 57 years and added that the scholar has touched upon the sociality with the literary pointy of view. He advised the people to develop reading habit and hoped that they will find the more fine society.
The Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, Dr Kazi also attended the final presentation.
