Former Information Minister Sheikh Rashid said that the new cabinet might be much bigger than the previous one, and most of its members will take oath either on Tuesday or Wednesday.
He was briefing the journalists here in his chamber at the Parliament House after Shaukat Aziz was elected as Leader of the House on Friday.
He said the new Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz would take oath on Saturday (Today) and after that he will form his cabinet.
"The cabinet will most probably take oath on Tuesday or Wednesday," Rashid said adding that it would be bigger than the previous one, as some new portfolios are likely to be created.
Responding to a query, Sheikh Rashid said that female parliamentarians would be given more representation in the cabinet.
When asked about any rift between PML and its allies, the former minister contradicted all the reports and said that there is no rift over the distribution of ministries between PML and the allied parties.
However he refused to give further details of the Aziz's cabinet saying, "I have no further information about the new cabinet. I can only say it would be formed after consensus."
Talking about the ascertainment of Shaukat Aziz, he said that Shaukat Aziz has successfully secured 191 votes. "We missed two votes because Dr Farooq Sattar from Muttahida Qaumi Movement could not come in time while Tharparkar seat was lying vacant," Rashid said, who looked quite sure of retaining his portfolio in the Aziz government.
Criticising the opposition's attitude, he said that opposition was well aware that it could not win against Shaukat Aziz, therefore, the opposition parties adopted a strategy to play with the media.
Rashid said Shaukat Aziz has agreed to give three months relief to prisoners while staff of National Assembly secretariat would also be provided one-month bonus. He hoped that the formal notification, in this regard, would be issued within one week.
He said that the government would continue working hard to give relief to the common people.
