Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) has finalised a scheme to strengthen the distribution network of residential and commercial consumers of Defence Housing Authority (DHA).
Under the scheme, 35 new Pole Mounted Transformers (PMT), costing Rs 10 million, would be installed by December 2004, a press release issued here on Sunday said.
A gathering of DHA residents was informed in detail by the KESC chief engineer Shabbir Solangi regarding these schemes, while Zafar Iqbal, president Defence Residents Society, energised new PMT at Street 29 Khayaban-e-Seher.
Speaking on the occasion, Zafar Iqbal appreciated the efforts of the KESC engineers and staff in improving the power supply system in line with the aspirations of the electricity consumers, residents associations and public representatives.
He said that if the power utility continued its efforts of electric supply system improvement work in fast track then shortly the electricity consumers would be relieved from the annoyance of frequent breakdowns and load-shedding.
The KESC chief engineer Shabbir Solangi and zonal manager Mohammad Obaidullah Tufail assured the residents of Defence that visible improvement in the power supply of DHA would be experienced with the addition and renovation of the network.
