Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Administrative Judge (AJ) of Anti Terrorism Courts (ATCs) for Karachi division on Monday remanded accused in kidnapping for ransom case to judicial custody till September 6.
The AJ also directed the investigating officer to complete the inquiry within seven days.
Earlier, a police party headed by Inspector Ateeq-ur-Rehman appearing before the AJ requested to remand the accused to judicial custody as accused Qurban Khoso has recorded his confessional statement before a judicial magistrate, South.
Gizri police booked Qurban Khoso on charge of abducting Naeem Ahmed, son of a local automobile tycoon in July 2004. The victim was released after paying pound sterling 60,000 to a member of kidnapper gang in Manchester, UK.
The accused includes Fida Hussain Khoso, son of DPO Larkana Nadir Khoso and six others.
Qurban Khoso was also remanded to judicial custody till September 9 in another case of kidnapping for ransom.
According to the police, the accused abducted a local businessman Muhammad Ali who was released after they secured a ransom amount of Rs 0.7 million which was paid in UK.
