Three people died in violence in Indian occupied Kashmir, including a school teacher, who killed in a blast at a busy market, while the brother of an Indian cabinet minister survived an attack, police said on Tuesday.
The school teacher was killed and 30 others injured when suspected freedom fighters lobbed a grenade at a police vehicle that fell wide and hit pedestrians in the market in Pulwama, 30 kilometres, south of the occupied Srinagar, police said.
The explosion sent people running for cover in all directions and the freedom fighters escaped in the melee, a police spokesman said.
Two freedom fighters were killed when Indian occupation troops besieged the house where they took refuge after a chase in Sopore, 50 kilometres, north of occupied Srinagar, police said.
The spokesman said the fighting was over but occupation troops were still searching the area for arms.
