Pakistan Railways (PR) has earned Rs 520 million more from July 01 to August 20, this financial as compared to the corresponding period of the last fiscal.
This is a reflection of improvement in the performance of this organisation, said General Manager (Operations) Aurangzeb Khan while speaking at a ceremony to distribute cheques amongst the retiring employees.
Expressing his satisfaction over this performance of the Railways, the GM further stated that no stone would be left unturned to further improve Railways and provision of essential facilities to its employees including timely payment of their dues.
He announced that the policy of payment of dues to retiring employees within one month of their retirement date would continue.
On Wednesday, he distributed about Rs 8 million cheques amongst 32 retiring employees. These employees belonged to Workshops Division and Railway Headquarters.
Meanwhile, according to a Railways spokesman, heirs of Deputy Chief Engineer, Farzand Ali, who was killed by unknown persons in recent past, had been paid Rs 700,000.
