The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has announced the availability of textile quota in various categories for USA, EU, Canada and Turkey on first-come-first-served basis for reservation/shipment during 2004.
According to the EPB here on Wednesday, the quotas in the following categories will be allocated strictly on FCFS basis till the availability of quantities.
The Bureau has advised exporters to apply through their respective association for issuance of visas/export licenses on post shipment against first-come-first-served" quota to Export Promotion Bureau, Textile directorate, Offices at Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Multan.
In Cat 1, 2-A & 3 for EU, shipment made on or after May 3, 2004 will only qualify for FCFS quota available on post shipment/reservation basis.
In Cat 334, 351, 352 for USA and CAT 5A for Canada, shipment made on or after May 24, 2004 will only qualify for FCFS quota available on post shipment/reservation basis.
Shipment with M.R. date prior to May 24, in respect of Cat 334, 351, 352 for USA and 5A for Canada will not qualify for Export Licenses from FCFS".
In Cat 336/636 for USA and Cat 3 & Cat 20 for Turkey, shipment made on or after June 25, 2004 will only qualify for FCFS quota available on post shipment/reservation basis.
Shipment with M.R. date prior to June 25, 2004 in respect of Cat 336/636 for USA and Cat 3 & Cat 20 for Turkey will not qualify for Export Licenses from FCFS.
Application for export licenses against post shipment in categories 336/636 for USA and Cat 3 & Cat 20 for Turkey will be received in the offices of the Bureau on June 25, 2004 and will be entertained for issuance of Export License.
In case total quantities applied on May 25, exceeds the quantity available, the distribution will be made on pro-rata basis. After June 25, 2004 the shipment will be allowed on FCFS.
In USA, Cat 363, EU Cat 4,5,6 & 9 and Canada Cat 42-A, the quantity is being placed first time in 2004.
To facilitate the exporter on all Pakistan basis, issuance of visas/export licenses in these categories will be made only for the shipment made on or after August 15, 2004. Shipment with M.R. / B.L. prior to August 15, 2004 will not qualify for visa/export license from the quantity placed on F.C.F.S. in the above categories.
Application for issuance of export licenses visas in USA Cat 363, EU Cat 4,5,6 & 9 and Canada Cat 42-A, these categories will be received in the offices of EPB on August 17, 2004 and all the application will be entertained for issuance of Export License/Visas.
In case applications received, exceeds the quantity available, the quantity will be distributed on prorata basis. The short fall should be arranged by the exporter for issuance of visa. After August 17, 2004 the shipment will be allowed on F.C.F.S. till the quantity is exhausted.
For post-shipment the exporter will be allowed following quantities per-month on F.C.F.S. subject to availability: a Category 4, 5 and 6 1500 dozen per-month.
For Cat 2-A,3,9 for EU, 363 for USA & 42-A for Canada, the economic lot will be announced after consultation with respective Association in next update of Website.
The reservation quota of 30 percent in Cat 1,2-A, 3,4,5,6,9 for EU, 363 for USA and 42-A for Canada have been divided to post shipment, have no allocation on reservation will be made in these categories.
