A team of Shia leaders, Dr Athar Mehdi, Gulzar Abbas Naqvi, Ghazanfar Shah, member of District Bar Samar Mehdi Kazmi, Jam Muhammad Ajmal, and Samar Abbas Haider met the District Police Officer (DPO) Muzaffargarh, Ahsan Mehboob and apprised him of their grievances.
They said that it was a terrorist activity that four member of a Shia family were killed, four scars were found on the body of Khurshid Raza Zaidi, three on the body of Sadaf Zohra Zaidi and post-mortem report further revealed that Sadaf and Batool were subjected to rape also.
They said that police interrogated only Sadaf's younger brother Shan Haider Zaidi and called their relatives to police station where they were detained whole day frequently. Resultantly Sadaf's uncle Professor Ishrat Ali Zaidi received a severe heart attack while her aunt was trapped by paralysis.
DPO admitted that police was still groping in dark and failed to find any clue of the culprits involved in these murders. However, we are trying to reach to the real accused. However, he did not agree with the team that it was a terrorist activity.
Muzaffargarh police failed to trace the killers of an International athlete Syeda Sadaf Zohra Zaidi, her sister Syeda Shirin Batool Zaidi, Post Graduate, her mother Khurshid Fatima and her brother Syed Khurshid Raza Alias Shehzad inspite of elapsing 18 days. Sadaf's father, Syed Mansab Ali Zaidi was an officer in PTCL who died two years ago.
