TOKYO: Tokyo's benchmark index cast off early losses Monday morning, extending a global rally as it headed for its sixth consecutive rise despite a lack of trading cues.
The Nikkei 225 advanced 0.44 percent, or 69.33 points, to 15,751.81 by the lunch break, while the Topix index of all first-section shares rose 0.47 percent, or 5.95 points, to 1,260.39.
