US Secretary of State Colin Powell on Friday telephoned Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and extended his heartiest congratulations on assuming the office of Chief Executive of Pakistan.
Powell said Pakistan and US had good and friendly relations and hoped that those relations would further improve under the government of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.
The US Secretary of State expressed the confidence that under his leadership, Pakistan would further progress and prosper.
He further hoped Shaukat Aziz would take more effective measures with a view to further improve the living standard of people of Pakistan.
Powell said taking advantage of liberal and comprehensive economic policies, Pakistan would achieve progress in all fields during the tenure of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.
