Over a 100 under privileged-handicapped and orphan-children were entertained for over three hours at a function organised by a visiting Pakistani artist and social worker Jimmy Engineer, at the Galadari Hotel here.
This was the fifth such programme organised by the Pakistani artist and social worker for the under privileged - orphans and handicapped - children in the island country.
Participating children were belonged to the mission of charity for handicapped children, Camilia School, for the handicapped children and for the blind.
Jimmy Engineer is currently visiting Sri Lanka for organising series of six fun and food programmes in the selected cities of the island country. His three weeks long goodwill tour has been sponsored by the Colombo Branch of the Union Bank of Pakistan.
Musician and singers entertained the children with songs and music, while some of the participating children also presented regional dances and presented folk, national songs and entertained their colleagues, who had got the rare entertainment opportunity of attending such a the function.
A magic show was also organised on the occasion and the magicians kept the young audience spellbound with their tricks for a long-time.
Jimmy Engineer said that after organising such entertainment programmes for around three years in his country, he was now expanding his programme to other regional countries so that the under-privileged children - handicapped, orphans etc - in those countries also have some fun and could enjoy the life.
Speaking on the occasion, he also offered his services to carry out walks or other such activities for promotion of peace in Sri Lanka.
He said that he would also organise such programmes in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives, Malaysia, Singapore and other countries of the region soon.-PR
