The oversee and monitoring committee of City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of development work.
Visiting sites of different ongoing development projects to review their progress, the committee expressed concern over slow pace of various development schemes that included work on Manghopir Road, Shah Latif Road, Heart Diseases Centre and Tannery Road. Showing its annoyance, the committee issued directions to the concerned departments to expedite the ongoing work and complete the projects on stipulated time.
The committee, led by Naib Nazim, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, Engineer Saleem Azhar also visited the sites of FTC Flyover, Shahra-e-Quaideen Flyover and other projects.
Other members of the committee - Abid Ilyas, Engineer Anwarul Haq and Misbahuddin Fareed - were also present on the occasion.
The committee expressed its extreme annoyance over the non-implementation of lift, air-condition and electricity works of Heart Diseases Centre.
On this occasion, Saleem Azhar warned that no laxity would be tolerated in the implementation of development works.
On the non-co-operation from utility organisations in the development work on Manghopir Road, he said the issue would be taken to the City Nazim.
He also directed the concerned officers to contact KESC officials inquire about the delay in completion of work. Pertaining to Tannery Road, he ordered to immediately open the road for public.
However, on the ongoing FTC and Shahrah-e-Quaideen flyover projects, he expressed satisfaction and instructed officials to maintain the speed and standard of the ongoing work and hoped that both projects would be completed on time.
He pointed out next time the committee would visit development work sites for review under the lead of the city Nazim, while those sites already visited would be again inspected by the committee after 15 days.
