Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Friday he was optimistic that the talks between Pakistan and India would lead to a peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.
The Prime Minister was talking to President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Mohammad Anwar Khan, who called on him at the Prime Minister's Secretariat here.
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz reiterated Pakistan's resolve for peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue through dialogue.
He said dialogue was not only in the best interest of both India and Pakistan, but was also in the larger interest of the whole region.
He hoped that both Pakistan and India would discuss the Kashmir issue in the talks being held in New Delhi on September 5 and 6 to find a peaceful resolution of the core issue of Kashmir.
Shaukat Aziz said: "It has always been Pakistan's endeavour to get the Kashmir issue resolved peacefully through negotiations in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir."
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan would continue extending political diplomatic and moral support to the people of Kashmir in their just struggle for resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.
He said the sacrifices rendered by the valiant people of Kashmir for their just cause of self- determination would not go in vain.
