A division bench of High Court of Sindh (SHC) comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Maqbool Sager on Friday dismissed the bail application of an accused Abdul Aziz Jatt, arrested in an accountability reference.
According to an accountability reference, Abdul Aziz Jatt and co-accused Abdul Aziz Mahar got 16 acres of land allotted originally for poultry farm converted to residential/commercial purposes in Deh Rehri in Malir district. The accused caused a loss of Rs 5,60,000 to the provincial coffers.
When the bail plea came up for hearing, Raja Qureshi advocate, appearing for the applicant, stated that no loss was caused by the applicant. He said when the accused was arrested no reference was filed against him but now a reference has been made and pending trial before an Accountability Court at Karachi.
Deputy Prosecutor General NAB Shaukat H Zubedi, opposed the bail plea.
The bench after hearing the sides for reasons to be recorded later dismissed the bail application.
