Abdul Wahab Kodvavi has decided to resign as Chairman of Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDC) after serving the company for nearly four years. He is being replaced by Basheer Janmohammed.
Kodvavi, during his tenure, contributed enormously to make the company an integral part of the capital market of Pakistan. While approving his resignation, the Board of Directors of CDCPL appreciated his meritorious service to the company.
His successor Janmohammed is a well-known figure in the financial and capital markets of the country. He is a Commerce and Law graduate, besides being a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP).
He is presently serving as the Chairman of Westbury Group of Companies, Dalda Foods Limited & Picic Insurance Company Limited.
Apart from corporate affiliations, he is also a known philanthropic figure. Janmohammed is President of the 200-bed Kharadar General Hospital, which is serving the poor community of Kharadar, Mithadar and Lyari areas.
He is also involved in social wellbeing with Al-Shifa Trust, Civil Hospital, Medical Aid Foundation, Health Nutrition Society, Darul Sakoon and Medicine Endocrine Foundation.
Pakistan Malaysia Economic Co-operation Committee of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) is also under the leadership of Janmohammed.-PR
