Ministers for Railway Mian Shamim Haider and Minister of State for Railways Ishaque Khan Khakwani called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz at Prime Minister's House here on Thursday.
The meeting was held to review the performance of Pakistan Railways and its future plans.
Prime Minister said that Railways is an important institution of economy and directed the Minister and Minister of State for Railways to further improve to efficiency of the Railway.
He asked the Minister and Minister of State for Railways to chalk out plan and proposals to facilitate the passengers.
Prime Minister also directed the Minister and Minister of State to take appropriate measures to increase freight business of Railways.
The marketing and management of the Railway should also be improved to make it profitable department, he added.
