A Pakistan Navy ship on Thursday rescued 18 persons during its routine patrolling in the Arabian Sea. According to details, illegal immigrants were being ferried by some agents to Gulf states in two different boats.
While on its way one of the boats got damaged and capsized at midnight putting their passengers lives in jeopardy, the PN sources said.
The crew of the boat had shifted to another boat and fled from the scene leaving behind the innocent people to perish., the sources explained.
The PN ship during its routine patrolling caught sight of the badly damaged and heavily flooded boat. People onboard were solely at the mercy of waves in precarious condition.
Keeping in view the situation the PN ship immediately lowered life boats and sea divers to conduct rescue operation. The rescue team, braving through the perils of high tides and rough sea, saved life of all individuals.
According to sources, the rescued persons would be handed over to the concerned authorities for in-depth investigation.
It may be recalled that Pakistan Navy has chronology of such rescue operations in the past also wherein numerous people have been rescue from the cruel waves of the ocean.
