State Bank of Pakistan and the Institute of Bankers Pakistan should make efforts to include Islamic financing in syllabus of financial institutions to prepare the nation for interest-free economic system.
The participants at a seminar on 'Islamic mode of financing' expressed these views, here on Friday.
Punjab Co-operatives Minister, Colonel Muhammad Anwar (Retd) was the chief guest at the seminar held under the aegis of Jamia Ashrafia.
The speakers urged the government to vigorously introduce Islamic mode of financing and banking in the country to get rid of interest based system.
Dr Muhammad Uzair, Director of Islamic Economics Jamia Ashrafia, said that Islam gives solution of every problem and interest-free economic system for a country was very much possible in the light of Quran and Sunnah.
He claimed that the country could pay its $34 billion foreign debts in maximum five year, provided it introduces Islamic economic system and utilise all available resources appropriately.
