IDEAS as a concept has been beneficial to Pakistan, said Aasim Siddiqui, Managing Director, Pegasus Consultancy and organisers of the mega event.
He said that this has established itself as an effective image building tool of the country because an exhibition of this scale crafted with professionalism and perfection leaves a very good impression on the high profile international delegates a fact proven in the two exhibitions held so far, similarly the exhibitors participating in IDEAS have found it to be a perfect platform to demonstrate their capabilities to a stream of visitors representing the governments, trade, diplomats and decision makers.
Siddiqui further informed that IDEAS has a positive impact on the overall activity in the specific sector, he quoted that the over all defence exports have gone up considerably, the defence sector in Pakistan has been receiving inquiries from different countries some of which are in advance stages also, the Pakistan defence forces have themselves gained in many ways from the interaction and networking which takes place during the event and above all the trickle down effect reaches the downstream vendor industry thus creating a ripple effect.
The local event organisers themselves have learnt a lot from IDEAS 2000 which set new trends in this sector after which international and local trade and public exhibitions have gained impetus in the country.
As a matter of record the establishment of Karachi Expo Centre itself at this scale owes a lot to IDEAS 2000 as it was the moving force behind this project which now has become a centre of activity in Karachi.-PR
