Worldcall Telecommunications Group began life in 1995 when First Capital Securities Corporation Ltd started to develop Worldcall Payphones, now Worldcall Communications Limited.
The next few years were spent in expanding its payphone network nationally, creating new telecom businesses and drawing investor attention to the value of Worldcall as the number one alternative national telecom operator.
Worldcall is part of a larger conglomerate and along with First Capital Securities Corporation Ltd the Worldcall family comprises of a mix of telecom, print & media, technology, financial services, retail and property development businesses with both national and international coverage.

TMT DIVISION:
WORLDCALL COMMUNICATIONS LIMITED: The principal activity of the company is the installation, operation and maintenance of a countrywide smart card payphone network and managing investment in various telecommunication service companies. WCL is also the first company to introduce prepaid calling cards in the country.

-- Coverage across 220 cities & towns in Pakistan.
-- Holds over 20% share of market amongst over 140 operators.
-- Over 35,000 payphones countrywide.
-- Highly trained sales and maintenance teams.
-- First company to introduce prepaid calling card service in Pakistan.
-- Service brand name is "Hello".
-- Introduced its segment specific Hello Bangla and Hello Afghan calling cards in Karachi and Peshawar in May 2004 respectively.
WORLDCALL MULTIMEDIA LIMITED: Worldcall Multimedia Limited (WML) has launched Internet Over Cable Service for the first time in Pakistan. Through this service the company is providing broadband Internet access to its customers at a speed, which is not possible through conventional dialup ISPs.
MEGA MAGIC: The FOC Network carrying a mix of entertainment and information caters to the house holds in Lahore.
-- The size of the scalable network in Lahore, the second largest city in the country, is 65,000 houses passes.
-- Serving around 40,000 CATV subscribers.
-- High-speed Internet Over Cable service also started with around 7,000 subscribers.
WORLDCALL BROADBOUND LIMITED: The principal activities of WBL are to provide broadband services including but not limited to rebroadcast international / national satellite / terrestrial wireless and cable television and radio signals as well as interactive communications.
Worldcall Group is the only business house in Pakistan which has in-house expertise for deploying HFC networks.
The network is being deployed in high and middle income residential and commercial areas of Karachi. WBL selected top of the line vendors & equipment suppliers including Scientific Atlanta Inc, Corning, Commscope & TFC. Currently WBL has over 25,000 CATV and 5,600 IOC subscribers.
WORLDCALL TELECOM LIMITED LONG DISTANCE & INTERNATIONAL (LDI) SERVICES: With deregulation, the PTA has awarded Long Distance and International (LDI) license to WTL. Worldcall has selected state of the art technology to deploy a full Next Generation Network (NGN).
This means lower fixed and capital expenditure, better quality of service, more competitive products, quick-to-market and new revenue rich services.
WORLDCALL TELECOMMUNICATIONS LANKA LIMITED: This is a JV between Worldcall Payphones and Hayleys Limited. Hayleys Group is one of the largest business conglomerates in Sri Lanka with diversified interests. Over 1,500 payphones have been deployed so far with clear cut expansion plans.
WORLDCALL TELEPHONY LIMITED: Worldcall is proud to be the first entrant in Local Loop and Wireless Local Loop Telephony markets. Worldcall with provide customers with high quality services, attractive pricing plans and a new set of features such as conference calling, call-waiting, call forwarding, free-phone (0800 service) etc.
LOCAL LOOP SERVICES WILL BE PROVIDED THROUGH THE FOLLOWING:
Local Loop over Cable: Worldcall will leverage its fully operational existing HFC networks in Lahore & Karachi to provide telephony over cable.
Local Loop over MSAN: Telephony & Broadband Internet will be offered to users over copper cable by leveraging our existing optical fiber backbone networks in Lahore and Karachi.
-- Wireless technology is being implemented after having acquired the appropriate frequency bands countrywide, through the recent bidding held by the regulatory authority.
WORLDCALL DOT COM LTD: Worldcall Dot Com is a subsidiary of Worldcall Multimedia Ltd and holds an ISP license from PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority). The company launched high quality dial up Internet services in November 1999 and is currently providing Internet access in Lahore.
Alcatel Pakistan was the turnkey provider of equipment and is also responsible for upgrading and maintenance of the same.
WORLDCALL INTERNET SOLUTIONS: WIS has put together a highly skilled team of software writers and designers and is now offering web development and design, multimedia presentations and content development services etc to corporate clients in Pakistan.
The MegaEast web portal, the first of its kind in Pakistan, provides local content to Worldcall Multimedia's cable and Internet subscribers like news, sports and entertainment.
In December 2002, a SMS Music Polling System was introduced for the first time in Pakistan on the MegaEast TV channel.
This allowed viewers to SMS their choice of music, videos etc to be viewed on the WML Cable TV, network MegaEast has also begun Pakistan's first interactive auction TV channel by the name of Kalabaazi, which offers a wide range of electronic, household & personal products for sale.
TOTAL MEDIA LIMITED BUSINESSPLUS: BUSINESS SATELLITE CHANNEL PLUS Business Plus is Pakistan's first satellite based channel providing round the clock coverage of local and international business news.
The channel offers a comprehensive coverage of Pakistan's financial markets, corporations, small and medium enterprises and investment opportunities.
MEDIA TIMES LIMITED DAILY TIMES:
DAILY TIMES: The company publishes an English Newspaper - Daily Times edited by award winning journalist Mr. Najam Sethi. Daily Times began publication from Lahore on April 9, 2002 and later started publication from Karachi as well to ensure timely deliveries in both the North and South of Pakistan.
WORLD PRESS LIMITED: World Press is a printing, packaging and publishing company with all modern facilities under one roof.
PROPERTY DIVISION: Commercial Properties Modaraba Management Limited has been set up as a management company for undertaking property business and development.
PACE PAKISTAN LIMITED: Pace is a pioneer in departmental stores, offering a veriety of brands at the most competitive prices and highest quality service. Today Pace is amongst the largest and most modern departmental stores of the country.
PACE SUPER MALL LIMITED: Pace Super Mall Limited has been set up to construct super markets and undertake development / sale of property.
The management is on its way to open three more shopping malls in Lahore ie Pace II, III and IV at Link Road, M.M. Alam Road, and Cantonment Area, respectively.
FINANCIAL DIVISION: FIRST CAPITAL SECURITIES CORPORATION LIMITED (FCSC) Develops, acquires and invests in financial, Telecommunications, entertainment & media services businesses in Pakistan and emerging economies of South Asia, Middle East & North Africa.
FIRST CAPITAL EQUITIES LIMITED: Is one of the leading brokerage houses of Pakistan. FCEL has a country-wide network of offices. The company is actively involved in providing equity brokerage services to foreign and domestic institutional investors and select high net worth retail clients.
FIRST CAPITAL ASSOCIATES (PVT) LIMITED: First Capital Associates (Pvt) Ltd serves the purpose of collection, analysis, interpretation and distribution of data regarding any particular industry or business practice. It provides advisory services and consultancy on all organisational management issues.
SHAHEEN INSURANCE COMPANY LTD: Is a joint venture between FCSC, Shaheen Foundation (Pakistan Air Force) and Hollard Group of South Africa. Shaheen Insurance provides general and health insurance services.
FIRST CAPITAL INVESTMENT LTD: FCIL is a licensed advisory company and is currently managing FCMF. FCMF has a share capital of Rs 150 million. FCSC has a 65% equity interest in FCIL.
FIRST CAPITAL MUTUAL FUND: The company was incorporated on January 8, 1995 as a public limited company with the objective to carry on the business of a "closed end" mutual fund and to invest its assets in securities, listed or proposed to be listed on the stock exchanges.
LANKA SECURITIES LTD (LSL): Was acquired by FCSC in the year 2000 to establish a foothold in the Sri Lankan market. Other investors in LSL include Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka and Bank of Ceylon. LSL offers brokerage services to domestic and international institutional investors.
EQUITY PARTNERS SECURITIES LIMITED (EPSL) EPSL has recently been acquired by FCSC to extend its footprint in Bangladesh. EPSL provides brokerage services to retail and institutional clients.
